In order to increase awareness about the legal safeguards for survivors of torture,
we conduct workshops and training programs for pro bono lawyers from border districts.
Our District Human Rights Monitors strive to spread awareness regarding the fundamental
rights guaranteed by the Constitution of India among the marginalized citizens living near
the Indo-Bangladesh border. We also conduct meetings and street corners and distribute
informative pamphlets regarding the same. With the District Legal Services Authority and
State Legal Services Authority we are also trying to provide monetary relief by making
application of human rights violation cases to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board of
the respective districts and conduct seminars with DLSA and other state officials for
strengthening the role of judicial actors in preventing torture and ill-treatment in border areas.
