Banglar Manabadhikar Suraksha Mancha (MASUM) is a
collective of social activists, professionals; psychiatrists, doctors,
psychological counselors and pro bono lawyers dedicated to
advance human rights in India and the sub-continent. MASUM
collaborates with other human rights groups, social movements
and survivors’ collectives to enforce the rights of marginalized
people and to minimize the systemic discrimination of
marginalized. MASUM is committed to challenge torture,
oppression, exploitation and discrimination against any group or
individual. Organization started its journey with addressing the
custodial torture and its subsequent ramification, further extended
its activities to address other forms of human rights violations and
other sphere of democracy and deliverances meant for
marginalized.
Major focus of the organization is to monitor the incidents of
torture, constant lobbying and advocacy with United Nations
bodies, international communities and domestic Human Rights
Institutions to establish the prevalence of this social malice and to
provide medical, psychological and legal respite to the torture
survivors.
